This adapter cape allows you to use our range of Raspberry Pi boards with the BeagleBone Black linux computer.
The cape connects the pins on the BeagleBone Black to the Raspberry Pi header and has space for optional pull-up resistors for the I2C data lines.
The BeagleBone Black requires a lower I2C pull-up resistance than the Raspberry Pi so if you are using one of our boards on the BeagleBone Black you will need to install the 2 resistors supplied.
This kit contains the following items:
- Main PCB Cape
- 3 way header with jumper for 5V source selection which is either USB or DC power jack
- Header pins for the BeagleBone Black P8 and P9 sockets
- Header pins for the Raspberry Pi GPIO header.
Please note this kit requires a soldering iron and solder to assemble.
The BeagleBone Black does not have the UART or SPI pins enabled or mapped as default. These need to be enabled using device tree entries.
Further information to enable the additional pins and ports are available from:
We have demo code for a selection of our Raspberry Pi expansion boards to use with the BeagleBone Black from:
All demo code was tested using the default Angström Linux and setup instructions to use our demo code are available from:
